Olbia, 20 September 2018 – Air Italy is delighted to announce excellent results for its first summer season under the new brand on both its Sardinia network and its newly opened Italy-US flights.

Air Italy only launched its new intercontinental flights from Milan Malpensa to Miami and New York in June of this year, yet has already reached load factors of more than 90% on the new US routes.

At the same time, between June and August, on the Olbia Costa Smeralda network, where Air Italy serves 11 airports with daily direct flights, Air Italy transported more than 500.000 passengers between June and September.

“Beginning our new US flights only several months into the launch of our new brand was always going to be challenging, but we were confident of our business model and in the great new product,” said Air Italy Chief Operating Officer, Neil Mills.

“Having now carried more than 500,000 passengers to and from Sardinia and achieved, on the new US routes, load factors of more than 90% is clearly therefore a testament to that conviction, and we are extremely grateful to our passengers for supporting us so wholeheartedly.

“As we now turn eastwards with our recent launch of Bangkok just last Sunday and our imminent launches to Delhi and Mumbai on October 28 and 30, we are equally confident as we balance our network, induct more new aircraft into the fleet and continue to enhance our product and service offering.”

For the winter, Air Italy has also increased the Milan-New York route from five to six weekly frequencies and will offer five flights per week, on its Milan-Miami service. This will permit customers to fly from Italy to the “Big Apple” every day, Saturday will be added from December 1st.

Moreover, the new destination Bangkok launched on Sunday September 9th will increase from four to five weekly frequencies starting from October 28h.

Today Air Italy has also opened its summer 2019 sales, offering in total more than 160.000 seats on Miami and New York and 74.000 on the new Bangkok service. New York will be operated through the summer on a daily basis, while Miami will be four-times weekly and Bangkok five-times weekly.

Air Italy’s African destinations, such as Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and Egypt, will all also benefit from added frequencies for the winter 2018-19, with flights to Accra and Lagos being doubled, from two to four per week, while Cairo and Dakar will be both served with five weekly frequencies.

Air Italy’s new international routes from Milan Malpensa offer seamless connections to and from Rome Fiumicino, Catania, Palermo, Naples, Lamezia Terme and Olbia.
